accessibility statement
Built for
every visitor.
the commitments behind this site — updated 26 june 2026
This site aims to align with WCAG 2.2 AA. It is an independent, hand-built project, so this page states plainly what is implemented, what is known to fall short, and how to tell me when something fails you — because a portfolio that performs but excludes has failed its most important review.
Implemented
- A skip-to-content link and a <main> landmark on every page.
- Keyboard-first everything: the site is fully operable without a mouse — including the command palette (⌘K), the guest terminal (`), the music player, project rows and modals (Enter/Space, Esc, arrow keys).
- prefers-reduced-motion honored across every effect: entrance animations, hover FX, the WebGL hero, the visualizer, the trailer (which declines entirely), the vinyl spin, confetti and sparks.
- Accessible names on every icon-only control — player transport, modal closes, slider arrows, social links, sound toggle, dock buttons.
- aria-live announcements for asynchronous outcomes (contact form results), aria-pressed on toggles, aria-current on navigation state, focus-trapped dialogs with focus restore.
- A visible amber focus ring (:focus-visible) sitewide; solid-plate captions and tooltips rather than blend-mode text, so contrast never depends on what sits behind.
- Canvas layers (visualizer, constellation, waveform, gauges) are decorative or duplicated in text: track data, seek position and works are all available as real HTML.
- Interface sound is whisper-quiet, starts only after your first interaction, and has a persistent one-click mute (header pill, palette, cheatsheet).
- Print stylesheets that strip the chrome and print research links with their URLs.
Known limitations
- The audio visualizations have no audio-description track — they are decorative; all information they convey exists as text.
- Third-party 30-second previews come from Apple’s catalog; their loudness is normalized by the source, not by this site.
- The midnight theme is a beta: a few low-traffic surfaces may briefly render in paper colors before overrides apply.
