ShengShu Technology's release of October 7, 2026 launches Vidu Q4 Preview, a next-generation video model with cinematic 4K output at 10-bit color and up to 15 reference images combined to build scenes. The release gives pricing from $0.045 per second of video at 540P, scaling with resolution to $0.39 per second at 4K, with a 30% discount on image-to-video and reference-to-video through November 30.
Vidu's product page describes up to 15 reference images and 3 voice references with audio and visuals in sync. A third-party report says the preview carries a $0.014 a second launch promotion against a higher list price.
The October 7 date and the 15 reference images match the release. The $0.014 per second figure does not appear in the press release read, which gives $0.045 to $0.39 per second, so $0.014 rests on third-party reports of a launch promotion and is unsupported in the primary source, not refuted.
'A minute of video under a dollar' follows from the arithmetic only at that promotional rate, since $0.014 times 60 seconds is $0.84. At the release's list prices a minute costs $2.70 at 540P and $23.40 at 4K.
The release names 4K output. 2K output was not found in the pages read, so it is unsupported here, not refuted. 'Flagship' is ShengShu's own description.
