the agent platform graveyard is filling up. flowise stopped development on july 29 and archived its repo on aug 13, with sim's oct 8 guide telling new projects to move to dify or sim.
self-hosted installs still run, but they now run on a dead upstream.
Context
Flowise's announcement, posted in a GitHub discussion on August 13, 2026 and on its own site, says the team decided to wind down operations for Flowise. Its timeline lists July 29, 2026 as the announcement and code freeze, when active feature development ceases and new pull requests stop being accepted, and a repository archival step after which issues and pull requests are locked and npm packages and Docker images are marked deprecated.
Sim's comparison page says Flowise's maintainers stopped development on July 29, 2026 and archived the repository on August 13, 2026, and that existing self-hosted installs keep running but get no upstream updates. Dryade's migration page says Flowise was archived on August 13 and its core team stepped back on August 31, 2026.
The July 29 end of development and the August 13 archive date match Sim's page and Dryade. Flowise's own timeline plans the archival for August 10, so the sources read give two dates for it, and the archive date in the note follows Sim, Dryade and the date of the discussion post.
'Self-hosted installs still run, but on a dead upstream' matches Sim's wording that installs keep running and get no upstream updates.
The note says Sim's October 8 guide tells new projects to move to Dify or Sim. The Sim pages found are dated July 13 to September 10, 2026, and an October 8 guide was not found, so that part is unsupported here, not refuted. Sim sells a competing product, so its advice to move to Sim is the vendor's own.
'The agent platform graveyard is filling up' is the author's line. This is one project.
