the browser ide is betting it survives the agent era. replit raised $250m at a $3b valuation, reported oct 6, while agents keep threatening to make the editor a relic.
the bet is that the place code lives still matters.
Context
Replit's announcement of September 10, 2025 says it raised $250 million in a round that valued the company at $3 billion, nearly triple its 2023 valuation. Reuters and Bloomberg reported the same round on that date.
TechCrunch reported on March 11, 2026 that Replit raised a $400 million Series D at a $9 billion valuation, six months after the $3 billion round.
The $250 million at a $3 billion valuation is a real figure, from September 2025. The pages read give no $250 million round on or around October 6, 2026, so 'reported oct 6' is unsupported here, not refuted. The most recent round found is the $400 million at $9 billion in March 2026, which would make the note's figure stale.
'The browser ide' is dated wording: the sources describe Replit as an agentic software creation platform, and its newer announcements center on its agent.
'The bet is that the place code lives still matters' is the author's line.
