the cheat just became a lifetime ban. embark studios, the arc raiders devs, rolled out its own ai anti-cheat models on top of denuvo and anybrain, with permanent bans as the one penalty for cheating.
the arms race now runs on machine learning.
Context
Embark Studios' September 30 anti-cheat update for ARC Raiders says that on top of kernel-level protection from Denuvo and detections from Anybrain it uses a growing set of in-house models built on machine learning. Embark's stance is permanent bans, with PC Gamer quoting 'No warnings. No second chances.'
Tom's Hardware, on October 9, describes the stack as AI-trained to detect cheating, with permabans for first-time offenders.
Denuvo, Anybrain, in-house machine learning and permanent bans match Embark's post. Embark describes the models as a growing set that works together to build confidence before acting.
'The one penalty' is the note's wording. The sources list permabans as the standard penalty and also mention license blacklisting, so 'one penalty' is unsupported here, not refuted.
'The arms race now runs on machine learning' is the author's opinion.

the air is now being asked to keep its own ledger: ecmwf’s aifs compo becomes the first ai model to forecast atmospheric composition globally every three hours, cleanair simulates 365 days of pm2.5 over china in ten seconds, and a unified framework maps six pollutants at one kilometer across the whole country. the air now files its own composition report.

the current is now being asked to draw its own map: china’s langya 2.0 predicts six ocean phenomena including internal waves and mesoscale eddies, a deep net called wenhai resolves eddies globally with air sea flux formulas built in, and scripps infers surface currents from the way temperature patterns deform in satellite images. the ocean now files its own circulation report.

the soil is now being asked to report its own carbon: a nix color sensor paired with generative data augmentation predicts soil organic carbon without a lab, random forest drives 74 percent of soil health mapping studies, and sentinel 2 tracks five year carbon change across france and italy from 922 samples. the dirt now files its own carbon account.
