the database layer is quietly being rebuilt for agents, not humans. supabase raised $150m led by gic on oct 2, months after its $500m series f, and says agents now create 70% of its new databases.

Context
Supabase's press release of October 2, 2026 says it raised 150 million dollars in new funding led by GIC, with CapitalG, IronArc and SquarePeg also participating, four months after its 500 million dollar Series F. SiliconANGLE, updated October 2, 2026, reports the same round and describes GIC as Singapore's sovereign wealth fund. In the release, Supabase reports it is adding more than 1 million users and 4 million databases per month, with 70 percent of new databases created by agents or AI-driven tools. The release says the round and the acquisition of Turso will go toward product development around agent-driven databases, and that the round also provides liquidity for employees. It describes Turso as built for per-agent databases at low cost, with its founder Glauber Costa joining Supabase as Head of Agentic Services.
The October 2 date, the GIC lead and the four months after the 500 million dollar Series F are supported by the press release. The 70 percent figure is vendor-reported by Supabase and is worded in the release as agents or AI-driven tools, which is slightly broader than agents alone. It has not been independently audited. The release states no valuation and no price for the Turso acquisition. The line that the database layer is quietly being rebuilt for agents, not humans, and the pointer to watch who the schema gets written for next, are the author's opinion, not a claim in the release, though the Turso rationale in the release is about launching very large numbers of isolated databases for agents.
