The debris is now being asked to file its own orbital ledger

Yethikrishna ROriginal on Threads

the debris is now being asked to file its own orbital ledger: a new ai model predicts satellite motion anomalies by learning from the light reflected off objects in orbit, spacex says its 30,000 star trackers detect around 30 million transits a day across the constellation, and an automated pipeline flags satellite streaks in telescope images.

the orbit now files its own traffic log.

Context

Spaceflight Now of 30 January 2026 quotes SpaceX saying its Stargaze space situational awareness system uses data from nearly 30,000 star trackers, producing approximately 30 million transits detected daily across the fleet, and says more than 9,500 satellites were on orbit. A University of Strathclyde news item dated 1 September 2026 covers an AI tool that detects unusual satellite behaviour.

How it compares

The 30,000 star trackers and 30 million transits a day match SpaceX's own statement, which is vendor-reported. The Strathclyde item was seen as a search result only, so the claim that a new model learns from reflected light is not confirmed here, and the telescope streak pipeline was not traced.
