the github trending page is now an agent-tooling market report. on oct 3, agent infrastructure, context management and ai skill ecosystems dominated the top repos, with langgraph crossing 42k stars.
the open-source frontier moved from models to the glue around them.
Context
An October 3 AI-master.dev piece says two of the three trending GitHub repos that day were agent harnesses, not models, and calls the harness layer infrastructure. LangGraph, LangChain's orchestration framework for stateful agents, shows about 42,000 stars on GitHub and tracker pages.
VibeCrowd lists LangGraph at 42,019 stars, up 388 in six days.
'Dominated the top repos' is stronger than the source, which counts two of three trending repos. The claim about context management and skill ecosystems was not confirmed in the pages read, so it is unsupported here, not refuted.
LangGraph's star count is about 42k to 43k depending on the tracker and day, so the figure matches only roughly.
'The frontier moved from models to the glue' is the author's opinion.
