the gpu hour just jumped a fifth. nebius raised on-demand rates on oct 1, taking an h100 from $3.85 to $4.50 per hour and a b200 from $7.15 to $8.50, with coreweave following.
the queue now sets the price.
Context
Verified event date: Nebius's pricing documentation says prices for virtual machines with NVIDIA B300, B200, H200 and H100 GPUs were updated starting Oct 1, 2026. Gate News lists the on-demand changes: H100 to $4.50 from $3.85 (up 16.9 percent), H200 to $5.40 from $4.50, B200 to $8.50 from $7.15 (up 18.9 percent) and B300 to $9.50 from $7.85 (up 21 percent).
Reuters (Sep 17) reported that Nebius hiked AI cloud prices again, and GPU Cloud Advisors (Sep 28) calls it the second increase since May.
The H100 and B200 prices and the Oct 1 effective date match. The rise is 16.9 and 18.9 percent for those two, and up to 21 percent across the range, so 'a fifth' fits the top of the range. The increase was announced in mid September. CoreWeave 'following' was not found as a reaction to Oct 1: sources read say CoreWeave raised hourly prices 25 percent in July 2026 and another 10 percent over the following two to three months. 'The queue now sets the price' is the author's opinion.
