the grid just became an ai contract. google signed an 890 mw nuclear deal with constellation on oct 6, plus 2,700 mw of 15-year supply, and will use gemini enterprise to plan the grid itself.

the largest nuclear fleet now answers to a search company.

Context

Google and Constellation announced on October 6 an agreement to bring 890 MW of new nuclear capacity to the PJM grid. Nuclear News Network says the capacity comes from uprates at 11 existing reactors, with the first increase expected by 2028.

Constellation will deploy Google Cloud and Gemini Enterprise to build an 'AI for Energy' blueprint for grid operations.

How it compares

The October 6 date and 890 MW match Google's and Constellation's release.

The Gemini piece is that Constellation will use Google Cloud and Gemini Enterprise for grid operations, so 'Google will use Gemini to plan the grid itself' reverses who uses it.

The 2,700 MW of 15-year supply and 'the largest nuclear fleet' were not seen in the pages read, so they are unsupported here, not refuted. Nuclear News Network describes a 20-year agreement.

'Answers to a search company' is the author's opinion.
