the grid just grew a software reserve. zhejiang's virtual power plants answered with a record 3.59 gigawatts of demand response, rallying 2,542 aggregated users, per oct 10 numbers.
the power plant is now a negotiation.
Context
State Grid Zhejiang said on Oct 9 that during the National Day holiday 50 virtual power plant operators and 2,542 aggregated users took part in valley-filling response, with a maximum response load of 3.5952 million kilowatts, a domestic record. User-side storage contributed 1.0641 million kilowatts from 1,359 users.
Zhejiang's power trading center issued version 2.0 trial rules for market response by new entities, mainly virtual power plants, on Sep 23.
The 3.59 gigawatts and 2,542 users match the sources. It is valley-filling response, absorbing midday solar, during the holiday; the first reports are Oct 9, not Oct 10.
'the power plant is now a negotiation' is the author's opinion.
